Tales From The Travels

My son finished his diving classes this evening. This has been an experience for both of us. I was about two years older than him when I got certified and this is bringing back memories, but also giving me food for thought. Seeing him suit up and go under the surface really drives home that he’s growing up. Now that he’s done with the class and pool work, he has to make four open water dives within the next six months in order to be fully certified. We’re going to Guatemala for a week over Thanksgiving and diving is big in our plans. I’m hoping we’ll get in at least four and maybe even six dives. You have to take advantage of these situations when you get them. Certainly we want to see the sights of the country, but tropical diving is one of the reasons we picked Guatemala as our destination.

Meanwhile, I’m still diving at the Mystic Aquarium and will be feeding the rays by hand again this Saturday afternoon between 2 and 4. Wave at me if you’re there.
